At Ethos of Gaia, sustainability is the way we think, decide and choose, at every level of the brand.
We operate with a clear framework, transparency and criteria that help us choose consistently.
Ethos of Gaia’s sustainability philosophy is captured in the 7 Pillars of Sustainability system, which acts as a filter for every item we curate. At the same time, we have set a goal of moving towards B Corp™ certification, as part of our broader commitment to responsible and transparent business operations.
Sustainability, for us, is a process of learning and improvement, with respect for people, the environment and our choices.

The 7 Pillars of Sustainability
Each object selected for Ethos of Gaia is evaluated through the 7 Pillars of Sustainability. These pillars constitute our selection filter and reflect the philosophy, values and way in which we perceive sustainable and responsible creation.
The inclusion of a product in the collection requires that it meets at least two of the seven pillars , depending on its nature.
Sustainable Materials
We select materials with respect for the environment and their life cycle. We prioritize natural, responsibly produced or certified raw materials that combine quality, durability and a reduced environmental footprint.
Handcrafted
We support handmade creation and human scale production. Each object carries the knowledge, time and craftsmanship of the person who created it.
Local Support
We choose to support local and small production structures, strengthening the local economy and keeping authentic production practices alive.
Recycled-Upcycled
We value materials that gain new life. We support the use of recycled and reused raw materials, contributing to waste reduction and the transition to a more circular economy.
Certified Practices
At Ethos of Gaia, certifications act as essential assessment tools. They help us ensure that raw materials, production processes and working conditions meet specific social and environmental criteria.
Cultural Heritage
We respect the cultural heritage embedded in the objects. We select creations that draw inspiration from local history, tradition and timeless techniques, transferring knowledge and aesthetics from generation to generation, with a contemporary perspective.
Innovation in Design
We embrace modern design and innovation when they serve functionality, sustainability and durability over time. We select objects with clear design thinking, smart solutions and aesthetics that do not follow ephemeral trends but create timeless value.
At Ethos of Gaia, certifications act as essential assessment tools. They help us ensure that raw materials, production processes and working conditions meet specific social and environmental criteria.
The certifications belong to the respective producers and suppliers and are displayed per product, where applicable, for complete and clear customer information.

Η πιστοποίηση B Corp™ αφορά επιχειρήσεις που δεσμεύονται να λειτουργούν με υψηλά πρότυπα κοινωνικής και περιβαλλοντικής υπευθυνότητας, διαφάνειας και ηθικής επιχειρηματικής πρακτικής. GOTS – Global Organic Textile Standard

OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 
It ensures that fabrics are free from harmful substances and safe for humans and the environment.
OCS – Organic Content Standard (OCS 100 / OCS Blended) 
It certifies the percentage of organic fibers and ensures traceability from raw material to final product.
Woolmark® Certification 
It guarantees that the product contains 100% pure new wool and meets international standards of quality, durability and sustainability.
ECOCERT® Certification

FSC® – Forest Stewardship Council
It certifies that wood and its products come from responsibly managed forests, with respect for biodiversity and local communities.
PEFC™ – Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification
It guarantees the sustainable management of small and medium-scale forests and the full traceability of timber throughout the supply chain.
Fair Trade Certified™ 
It ensures fair wages, safe working conditions and sustainable development in production communities.
Fair Wear Foundation (FWF) 
It promotes fair working conditions, decent wages and safety in the clothing and textile industry.
PETA-Approved Vegan 
It certifies that no animal ingredients or animal testing are used at any stage of production.
GRS – Global Recycled Standard 
It certifies products containing recycled materials and monitors social and environmental practices in production processes.
RCS – Recycled Claim Standard 
It verifies the presence and percentage of recycled raw materials, ensuring traceability in the supply chain.
Cradle to Cradle Certified® 
It evaluates products based on material safety, recyclability and their contribution to the circular economy.
EU Ecolabel 
European label awarded to products with reduced environmental impact
footprint throughout their life cycle.
Carbon Neutral / Climate Neutral Certification 
It guarantees that carbon emissions have been measured, reduced and offset through certified environmental projects.
