SUSTAINABILITY & ETHICAL STANDARDS
The objects in our everyday life
We believe that the way we choose the objects around us reflects the way we live, think and consume. That is why we carefully curate objects with timeless design, substance and respect for people and the environment.
Our vision is a quiet, conscious luxury. Luxury based on moderation, timelessness, and choices with a reason for existence, choices that stand the test of time, aesthetically, functionally, and in terms of value.
OUR CHOICES
With respect for your character & the environment
Ethos of Gaia was born from the desire to express a lifestyle where aesthetics, quality, and ethics coexist without compromise.
Our name, inspired by "ethos" and Gaia (mother-nature), expresses our commitment to choices that respect people and the environment.
We want to inspire a life philosophy that embraces beauty, sustainability, and ethical choices. We select products that are responsibly produced, designed with care, and built to last.
The items we choose are not only distinguished by their ethical value; they improve everyday life through materials that respect the environment and people, while simultaneously exuding aesthetics and discreet luxury.
YOU ASK US OFTEN...
Each item selected for Ethos of Gaia is evaluated through our 7 Pillars of Sustainability. These pillars form our selection filter and reflect our philosophy, values, and our understanding of sustainable and responsible creation.
1️⃣ Sustainable Materials
We choose materials with respect for the environment and their life cycle. We prioritize natural, responsibly produced, or certified raw materials that combine quality, durability, and a reduced environmental footprint.
2️⃣ Handcrafted
We support handmade creations and human-scale production. Each item carries the knowledge, time, and craftsmanship of the person who created it.
3️⃣ Local Support
We choose to support local and small production structures, strengthening the local economy and keeping authentic production practices alive.
4️⃣ Recycled – Upcycled
We value materials that are given a new life. We support the use of recycled and upcycled raw materials, contributing to waste reduction and the transition to a more circular economy.
5️⃣ Certified Practices Certifications & Ethical Standards
The Certified Practices pillar refers to transparency and the confirmation of responsible practices through recognized international certifications and standards.
At Ethos of Gaia, certifications serve as essential evaluation tools. They help us ensure that raw materials, production processes, and working conditions meet specific social and environmental criteria.
Certifications belong to the respective producers and suppliers and are displayed per product, where applicable, for complete and clear customer information.
At Ethos of Gaia, we do not produce our own products. We select and curate items from partners in Europe and internationally, based on specific criteria of quality, responsibility, and sustainability.
Our collection includes both small-scale handmade items and products from organized production, which are manufactured in controlled facilities with an emphasis on certified raw materials, responsible production practices, and supply chain transparency.
Each product is individually evaluated through the Ethos of Gaia Sustainability Pillars to ensure it aligns with our philosophy of quality, aesthetics, and responsible consumption.
We select materials with respect for the environment and their life cycle. We prioritize natural, responsibly produced or certified raw materials that combine quality, durability and a reduced environmental footprint.
